💙 That’s a wrap on our current exhibition! A huge thank you to everyone who visited 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 & 𝗟𝗲𝗶𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲. It has been a pleasure to showcase Daventry’s sporting history and favourite pastimes through a fun celebration of local sport and recreational activities.

👏 As always, a special thank you goes to our fantastic volunteers, whose hard work and support help make every event and exhibition such a success.

📻 📻 𝑨 𝒄𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒚 𝒐𝒇 𝒃𝒓𝒐𝒂𝒅𝒄𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒊𝒔 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐 𝒂𝒏 𝒆𝒏𝒅....

🎙 On 27 June, the BBC will switch off Radio 4 Long Wave, bringing to a close almost 101 years of Long Wave broadcasting in the UK - a story that began right here in Daventry with the famous 5XX transmitter on Borough Hill in 1925.

📡 To mark this historic moment, our volunteer curator and former BBC employee Rod Viveash has created a special display of Long Wave radio receivers, exploring the fascinating history of this pioneering service.

⏳ Come and take a look before 1.30pm on Friday 12 July, or visit when our new exhibition opens from Saturday 4 July.
