"The Hugh Bourne Film" is the latest video on our YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/. Ray Johnson of the Staffordshire Film Archive introduces the Hugh Bourne Film, which tells Hugh Bourne's story in his own words and through vintage reminiscence recordings filmed at Mow Cop and re-enactments by the Victoria Theatre company in 1970 in their production of "The Burning Mountain”.

Today we are filming in the cottage for 3 education films exploring the effects of alcohol on relationships, health and money. There are numerous stories in the archives of the detrimental impact, but also how the Primitive Methodists supported and helped those with addictions to change and transform their lives. Thanks to AIM (the Association of Independent Museums ) and the National Lottery for funding this project.

We closed our X/Twitter account last year and have now opened a Bluesky account - the "nice" Twitter (for now, at least). We'd like to put a permanent link, as we have to YouTube and Instagram, in our profile, but Facebook won't let us.

Join us via Zoom at 10.30am GMT this Wednesday, 18th December, for the fourth and final of our annual series of Bible studies for Advent. Under the heading “Rejoice In Our Advent Hope?!” minister Tim Macquiban will lead us in reflecting on what it means to live the joy of the Gospel in everyday life, experienced in the darkness and fears of our lives as well as in the light of the hope of peace in a justice-seeking community.
In this final session, entitled ”The Hope That Brings Peace”, Tim considers Isaiah 9: 6-7 and the Charles Wesley hymn “Rejoice The Lord Is King”.
Taking part is free. You can attend one, some or all. Everyone is welcome.
