Today (13 June) marks the official birthday of King Charles III.
To celebrate, we’re delighted to share a selection of photographs from His Majesty's visit to Corinium Museum in December 2020, when he officially opened our new Prehistory Gallery.
This memorable occasion took place during the COVID-19 pandemic, a globally significant moment in recent history, as reflected in the face coverings worn by all in attendance.
We are honoured to have welcomed His Majesty and to commemorate this special visit today.

✨ Friday Finds! ✨
This week, Phill Brant-Simmons shares a fascinating insight into the miniature weaponry (votives) discovered alongside the Iron Age Silver Coin Hoard. These intriguing objects offer a glimpse into ritual practices and beliefs of the time.
A huge thank you to the V&A Purchase Grant Fund and Arts Council England for their support in helping us acquire this remarkable hoard.
