Although small, our automatic lawn mower is mighty!

By cutting little and often, the tiny grass clippings from the mower fall back into the lawn, naturally feeding the grass and helping the soil retain moisture.

Small actions can make a big difference 💪

Spread over 10.5 acres, the gardens are home to a variety of wildlife which we encourage and protect as best we can.

For Great Big Green Week, we want to highlight some key areas of the site that visitors will enjoy this time of year.

🐝 The insect room near the Long Walk is packed with different habitats including bee hotels, log piles and stone stacks, designed to support a variety of wildlife.

🌱 Visitors will also notice patches of grass left to grow longer around the site, creating rich habitats for insects, birds and small mammals.

Make sure you visit the Thatched Barn for more information on the ways Hidcote is green!

Welcome to the Great Big Green Week takeover! 💚

Bringing together over two million people, The Great Big Green Week is the UK’s biggest celebration of community action to protect nature and tackle climate change.

Nature is at the heart of our work, and to be a part of this year's Great Big Green Week, we have added some green facts about our work at Hidcote onsite and in our brilliant garden guide talks this week.

Our aim this year is to start of conversation with our visitors on what we do, why we do it and small things everyone can do to help make a difference to our surrounding habitats.

Keep a look out for more green news on our socials this week

As apart of Volunteers Week, we wanted to spotlight the amazing Bridget who volunteers with our F&B team 🌟

"The best thing about Bridget is that she brings a lot of 'Joie de vivre' to the busiest part of our day. She inspires all generations of our team to approach tasks with a positive attitude, and Bridget's smile is contagious!" - F&B team

From all the team and on behalf of our visitors, thank you for everything you do for us, Bridget!
