Sick to Death Chester

Sick to Death Chester Immerse yourself in the gory story of medicine through time with hands on exhibits based on our gruesome past! Open daily 10am - 6pm (last entry 5pm)

Sick to Death is a new attraction in St Michael's Church in the centre of Chester city. It explores the gory story of diseases, doctors and dying in the medieval world with a balance of hands on fun, amazing museum artefacts and epic science. We make learning and fun contagious.

At both Sick to Death and our sister site Deva Roman Experience, we have always looked forward to the annual Chester Pride events, to show our support for the LBGTQIA+ community and to come together with the people and businesses of Chester to spread positivity and love in our city. To prepare for the parade going past our building on Saturday, we put our banner up on the fencing outside our building yesterday (11th August), however, when our staff returned this morning, we found our sign torn down, and vandalised.

Events like this highlight the reason we celebrate Pride, and why it is so important to stand with the LGBTQIA+ community against homophobia, transphobia and prejudice. Sick to Death and Deva Roman Experience will continue to stand with the community in the face of discrimination and our businesses will always be safe and inclusive spaces.

We look forward to seeing you all on Saturday to celebrate not only our present-day community, but to commemorate the hardships faced and battles won by LGBTQIA+ people throughout history.
