Borrow My Eyes
—— Reimagining Museum Learning through Embodied Experience
Museums are more than places that preserve objects—
They are spaces where people observe, wonder, connect and create meaning together.
Borrow My Eyes is an interactive museum learning experience that combines drama pedagogy, embodied learning and close observation to invite participants to see artworks through another person’s perspective. Rather than seeking a single “correct” interpretation, the workshop encourages curiosity, empathy and dialogue, exploring how meaning is shaped through perception, imagination and shared experience.
At the heart of the workshop is one simple question:
Can we ever truly see an artwork through someone else’s perspectives?
Through a series of paired experiences, participants discover that every act of looking is also an act of interpretation. By slowing down, listening carefully and borrowing another person’s perspective, they begin to experience the museum not only as a place of knowledge, but as a space for connection, reflection and co-created meaning.
Developed in collaboration with the Cambridge China Education Forum, Borrow My Eyes reflects a shared commitment to exploring innovative approaches to museum learning—placing human experience, dialogue and imagination at the centre of every museum visit.
