Following sold-out, award-winning and critically acclaimed runs, WITH LOVE, MR. GAY concludes its national tour with three final performances.

It started with a note: “If you move my bin again I’ll get an ex-mercenary to destroy you… from flat 2”

Playwright Joshua Val Martin turns his real story into a laugh-out-loud, one-hour mix of cabaret, comedy and music that asks: can we ever truly resolve a conflict?

🎟 Tickets £12/£10 conc. Visit the link in our bio to book!

"With Love, Mr. Gay is an absolute gem: a gorgeous example of a story carved with admirable skill and brought to life by two superlative performers." - Everything Theatre

🌈 Join us tomorrow for Q***R FEST 10am-5pm!!
Swipe for the schedule of events including Q&As and spoken word readings!

Special pop up exhibitions taking place tomorrow:
🖼️Towards Memorial (pictured in this post)– In a period of political and social uncertainty, how can what you wear help to express your beliefs and what you stand for? TOWARDS MEMORIAL is an art project that explores this question by remaking a pair of sandals designed and made by the socialist writer, poet and activist Edward Carpenter (1844-1929). Gifted to LGBTQI+ activists, the wearing of these sandals activates the stories and struggles of the past, bringing them to life in the present day
🖼️ Jez Dolan – A chance to see artworks which are part of Bury’s Permanent Collection, including, Wolfenden (commissioned by Parliament in 2015 to commemorate the 1957 Wolfenden Report) and Polari: an Etymology - According to a Diagrammatic by Alfred H Barr alongside the Polari Bible and a collaborative LGBTQ+ interpretation of The Cruel Sister
🖼️PROTEST! – Documenting Dissent - IAP:MCR mark the 21st anniversary of the abolition of section 28. In 1988 coinciding with the height of the AIDS crisis; less than 10% of British adults thought that same-sex relations were ‘acceptable’. Margaret Thatcher’s Conservative government subsequently introduced Section 28 of the Local Government Act which prohibited the ‘promotion of homosexuality’ by schools and local authorities. In direct response to this, and as an act of protest and defiance, over 20,000 people took to Manchester’s streets to express their anger, making it the biggest & single LGBTQ+ demonstration in British history. This event is the starting point for PROTEST! Come and find out more about the project.
🖼️Steven Appleby's 'I've had enough of secrets' will be on display until September 20th!

Just 4 days to go until Q***R FEST on Saturday 21st June!!

Steven Appleby – ‘I’ve had enough of secrets’

Join us for the launch of Steven Appleby’s new exhibition as well as a special opportunity to see Steven in conversation with lifelong friend Malcolm Garrett, to discuss this show and ‘Dragman’, amongst other things…

Following the huge success of Nothing is Real at Space Station 65 in London, fans of Steven Appleby's unmistakable drawing style, as seen in their many books and in comic strips such as Captain Star (NME, Observer), Small Birds Singing (The Times), and Loomus (Guardian), will not be disappointed in this new exhibition, 'I’ve had enough of secrets' which continues to delve into things not being what they appear to be…

Featuring original sketches and pages from, ‘Dragman’, Steven’s inspirational and delightfully witty long-form graphic thriller, briming with their oblique and absurdly imaginative musings on 'what is life really all about?' as well as drawings, paintings and photographs exploring identity; a chance to glimpse into the not so secret life of one of Britain's favourite artists.

🎟 11:30am-1pm Steven Appleby Q&A with Malcolm Garrett followed by book signing. No need to book - arrive early to avoid disappointment!

'I’ve had enough of secrets' exhibition continues until 20 September
