A lovely review from a client who held a dinner with us last week in the Gallipoli Room. Thanks so much for choosing us Bury Grammar School and so glad you all enjoyed the experience.

" A 5 star service from start to finish. Booking and organising was made easy with a dedicated operations manager and the event was easily tailored to our needs. The food was well cooked and all the guests enjoyed the experience of the โ€˜Gallipoliโ€™ Room. "

๐Ÿฝ๏ธOn Friday evening, our Combined Cadet Force hosted their Contingent Dinner at The Fusiliers Museum to celebrate the incredible achievements of our Year 13 Senior Cadets.
The King's Coronation Medals were presented to members of staff with over five years of service to the Cadet Forces, and the Kevin Hill Trophy for Outstanding Cadet 2025 was awarded to Adam in Year 13. ๐ŸŒŸ

We're posting our Curiosity of the Month a little earlier in January seeing as though it's so cold and wintery outside at the moment.

This month we're sharing a heartfelt letter from Cyril Jones to his mother, dated February 1917. In the letter, Jones expresses thanks for a parcel she sent him and shares his experiences enduring the cold, snowy weather in the trenches.

Cyril Jones joined the Royal Fusiliers in 1914 as a student at Oxford University. Promoted to officer in 1916, he later transferred to the Lancashire Fusiliers. Remarkably, Jones survived the First World War and continued his service by joining the Home Guard during the Second World War.

Visit the museum to see Cyril's letter and discover lots more Fusilier stories in our collection.

As part of our KFOR and Kosovo +25 exhibition we also wanted to tell the story of the refugees - what they really experienced during the troubles and what led them to leave. With the help of Pam and Paul from the Voices of Kosovo in Manchester project they introduced us to several refugees who have since set up home in Manchester and were willing to share their story with us. We are so grateful for their contributions - visit the exhibition and discover the stories of Besim, Valbuna, Rina and Lumnije for yourself.

โœจ December's Curiosity of the Month! โœจ

Weโ€™re excited to showcase a stunning new addition to the museum: a stained-glass artwork by Dave Allen, a former member of the 2nd and 3rd Battalions, Royal Regiment of Fusiliers.

This artwork commemorates the 350th anniversary of the historic regiments that form the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers. Crafted with over ten types of glass, it beautifully reflects the regiment's colours, history, and enduring legacy.

This stunning piece is now on display near the entrance to the RRF Gallery. Open tomorrow and early next week so pop in and have a look.
