In Substitute at Gagosian, Rachel Whiteread continues her longstanding exploration of absence, transforming what we cannot see into something tangible.

Known for casting the negative space of objects and architecture, Whiteread’s practice reverses our expectations of sculpture. Instead of representing form, she captures what surrounds it, the air inside a room, the imprint of a surface, the trace of something no longer there.

Across sculpture and photography, Whiteread reveals how everyday structures quietly hold time, history, and human experience. What might appear minimal at first becomes deeply evocative, a reminder that absence itself can carry meaning.

At Pace Gallery, Loie Hollowell’s Overview Effect transforms one of the most intimate human experiences into something expansive, almost cosmic.

Drawing on the term used by astronauts to describe the profound shift in perception when viewing Earth from space, Hollowell’s paintings explore what it means to move between different states of awareness, from the physical body to something far beyond it.

What emerges is a practice that is at once deeply personal and widely resonant, expanding the visual language of abstraction to include motherhood, embodiment, and shifting consciousness.

The art market has corrected. But where are experienced collectors focusing now?

Over the past few years, we’ve seen a clear shift away from speculation and back towards quality, track record, and liquidity.
One area stands out: prints and editions.

Once seen as secondary, they are now a central part of serious collecting. Offering access to artists like Damien Hirst, Yayoi Kusama, and Gerhard Richter, alongside strong global demand and more resilient performance, they continue to attract both new and established collectors.

At White Cube Mason’s Yard, Sarah Morris turns her attention to the infrastructures that quietly govern contemporary life.

In Snow Leopards and Skyscrapers, corporate entities become the starting point for a new body of paintings that translate finance, data, and institutional power into bold, diagrammatic form.

Cecily Brown returns to London with Picture Making, a major solo exhibition at the Serpentine Gallery.

The show is her first solo presentation in a UK institution in over two decades and showcases the energy, movement, and complexity that define her work.

Visitors will encounter paintings, drawings, and monotypes where figures, landscapes, and gestures emerge and dissolve across layered compositions. Several works draw inspiration from Kensington Gardens, creating a dialogue between nature, memory, and painting.
