Our Reminiscence Group goes out and about!

The museum runs two outreach sessions for senior members of our community. They meet regularly to reminisce and share memories on all sorts of subjects from working to shopping, and the cinema to Christmas!

This April, the team took a group from our museum based 'Times Gone By-Banbury' session for a trip to the theatre in Oxford to see 'The Importance of Being Earnest'. A wonderful time was had by all..

'I was in every annual pantomime in Chipping Warden where I lived for more than 50 years and I’ve always loved watching live performances, so I decided to go on the group trip to the theatre which is something I haven’t done for a long time.
I was able to go because the transport was organised for me including a bus ride which is something else I haven’t experienced for a long time. There was a lot of banter on the bus with other passengers including 2 Morris Dancers which I really enjoyed.
The highlight of my day was how kind and helpful everybody was especially the bus drivers and the theatre staff.'
Brenda Heath (91 yrs)

If you think you would like to join or know someone who might like to join either of our Banbury or Kidlington Reminiscence Sessions, see our website for more details or get in touch with our co-ordinator Karey Morley at [email protected]

Oxfordshire Art Weeks started last weekend, and we have a good supply of the guides in the shop for you to pick up, along with flyers for some of the more local artists. So do call in and pick up your copy.

Lots of the artists who exhibit and sell with us in the shop are taking part this year.

Here are just some of them…
