Earlier this week Norfolk Fire Museum helped es**rt retired Leading Firefighter Arthur Peck on his final journey. Arthur, a proud family man, was based at Harleston and fitted in his firefighting duties around a number of jobs before going self employed.
Arthur joined the crew at Harleston in 1961 and served for 32 years attending countless incidents across the county before retiring in 1993. With the fire service in his blood, retirement didn't stop Arthur from riding fire engines, as he brought his own and spent many years with his son Tim, restoring different fire engines and enjoyed taking them to many shows across the local area.
Arthur can be seen in the centre of the black and white image which was taken at a large exercise at Shotesham Hall in the early 1970s and much later in the grand ring at Weeting Steam Rally
