Happy Convoy Day!

It's 6th June, so Convoy Day!

"A Big J Guy with a Gardner in, a Loadstar carting water. ....." OK, it doesn't have the same ring and the original 'Convoy', but remember we do have a few Commercial Vehicles in the Museum.

No special events this year - but maybe a good day for a Commercial display next year - what do you think?

Some commercial models in the shop, along with lots of model buses - come along and get out of the rain.

An early warning - our card machine may not be working today, following a computer upgrade.

The forecourt at the Museum was well blocked this morning by a beautiful pair of Scania low-loaders owned by Russell Transport of Cheltenham. Nothing to do with the Museum, but our neighbours were having some heavy machinery moved, but it was great to see these trucks at close range.

Last weekend we were pleased to host a meeting of the Fairthorpe Sports Car Club, who brought with them several Fairthorpe Electrons and a Rochdale Olympic, a make also covered by the Club. It was good to have these very rare British sports cars on site; we hope that they enjoyed their visit. (Pictures courtesy of Jake Braggington).

It's Bank Holiday Monday again - and we're OPEN. Nothing special planned, but the Museum will have all our exhibits waiting for you to look at and experience - remember that many of our buses will be open for you to look inside and you can sit in the Driver's seat of some of them. The shop has a good range of models, books and photographs for you to buy, along with cans of drink and confectionary. Come and say hello!

Today, the Museum was delighted to welcome the Mayor of Walsall, Cllr Louise Harrison for an official visit. We very much hope that the Mayor enjoyed her visit; we were very pleased to hear about her family connection with Walsall buses in the past. Thank you for coming.
