The blank page is a potent symbol. It points to what is still unrealized; it suggests possibility and renewal. Blankness, emptiness, and silence are subjects that have preoccupied important artists in modernity, as Sixtine Geay (.art ) demonstrates in her sharp and concise mini-survey. And in 2020, and again in 2022, the blank page became synonymous with protest.
[...]
With certain slogans banned, the white sheet of paper became a screen onto which any message of resistance might be projected. When faced with repressive regimes intent on suppressing dissent, people spoke out anyway, albeit without a word. The blankness is a strategic silence; this defiance refuses to be pinned.

Saturday 25.04.2026 - 17h

Join us for a listening session and closing celebration of 𝑮𝒆𝒐𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒑𝒉𝒚 𝒐𝒇 𝑺𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅 / 𝑳𝒖𝒈𝒂𝒓 𝑺𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒖𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒐 this Saturday 🌻

The exhibition features the work of multidisciplinary artists Daniela Stubbs-Leví and Lucía Hinojosa Gaxiola. Curated by Anna Dusi, this duo show originates from an intention of mapping sound through an array of tactics, protocols, poems and exercises.

𝘚𝘶𝘳𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘢 (𝘐𝘐𝘐)
27-minute sound composition with field recordings, radio, voice, and other sound components

For the exhibition at 15 Beautreillis, the artists have created 𝘚𝘶𝘳𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘢’s third iteration: a new poem and sonic flux mapped by field recordings, sound poetry and conversations during the artists’ encounter in France, adding to this piece the exploration of the furrows of Paris and its environs. This sound installation invites the spectator to find answers in their deep listening to reimagine, recombine and to hear their own flux.

MEET THE ARTIST | Lucía Hinojosa Gaxiola 💫

Mexico City, Mexico
b.1987

Lucía Hinojosa Gaxiola is a poet, artist and performer working in a variety of mediums. Her sound performances and installations often enact the friction and disintegration of language to amplify deeper layers of communication and reciprocity beyond the human, exploring the transmutation of archives, memory, ritual, and the ecology of sound. Her poetry — many times preconceived through somatic, ephemeral and ecopoetic gestures — is crucial to her research-based multidisciplinary practice.

She has published the poetry books 'Templos en erupción' (Juan Malasuerte, 2025); 'The Telaraña Circuit' (Tender Buttons, 2023); and 'O' (EBL/Cielo Abierto, 2023) and has released albums of experimental music and poetry including 'REZO' (poema insecto), an ode to the stridulation of insects, and most recently the EP Primer Voltaje and the album Sonando gravedad, both upcoming with the Mexican label Aurora Central Records.

Hinojosa Gaxiola is a graduate of Visual & Critical Studies from The School of Visual Arts and the SOMA Educational Program in Mexico City (2016 - 2018). She has exhibited and performed at Museo de Arte Moderno (Mexico City); Fonoteca Nacional (Mexico City); Ex-Teresa Arte Actual (Mexico City); Pequod Co. (Mexico City); Arróniz Arte Contemporáneo (Mexico City); Vernacular Institute (Mexico City); Microscope Gallery (New York City); The Poetry Project (NYC); among others. She has also participated in residency programs such as Rabbit Island (Michigan); Microtonal Music Studios (Helsinki); and Wendy’s Subway (Brooklyn).

With Diego Gerard Morrison she runs and co-edits , an experimental editorial platform from Mexico City, publishing bilingual journal-anthologies and books in-translation. diSONARE has curated various poetry and performance festivals and developed projects related to sound, performance, radio and activism.

The exhibition includes a series of research works, drawings, scores, and archival materials that accompany the sound pieces, rendering the processes underlying the research tangible and extending the experience beyond the purely sonic.

Visitors to the exhibition find themselves in a 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 that, rather than evoking a protected enclosure, exists as a condition; a state in which sound provides orientation and guidance. We encounter the meaningful world of poetry. Darkness functions not as absence but as amplification. In reducing the visible, perception heightens. 𝘓𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 slows time, softens boundaries, and allows presence to establish itself.

𝘚𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮 features 66 works on paper and a video work across 15 Beautreillis’ two levels. The photographs and drawings are a sequence of black, white and grey details, gestures, formal interactions, body parts, patterns, masks and facades. The works on paper encircle the ground floor gallery, inviting the viewer to observe, perhaps from a different perspective than usual, the tenderness and intimacies of the everyday.

the hour of the squirrels driven bonkers and nocturnal by light pollution and car exhaust, their world dense with wet clicks – teeth, tongue, insects, the unfolding push of plant growth in rich black shopbought peat moss – nuzzling along in search of something more substantial than desiccated succulents
