ARTUNER presents Louis Le Kim’s practice at Asia NOW 12th Edition.

Louis Le Kim’s practice explores the intersections of space, memory, and architecture, drawing on his experiences in hidden urban environments and remote historical sites worldwide to create enigmatic landscapes that oscillate between reality, dream, and speculation. Presented by Artuner, the exhibition will bring together a site-specific body of work conceived in dialogue with the space, featuring a new series of paintings created specifically for the exhibition.

Founded in 2013 by Eugenio Re Rebaudengo, ARTUNER is a hybrid curatorial platform that operates beyond the traditional brick-and-mortar gallery model. By combining expertly curated online presentations with dynamic physical pop-up exhibitions worldwide, ARTUNER champions emerging and established international artists, fostering a global, flexible dialogue between creators, curators, and collectors.

mor charpentier presents Reena Saini Kallat’s installation, Pattern Recognition, at Asia NOW 2024. This large-scale wall triptych addresses global inequality, using Snellen eye-test chart formats to depict countries according to the Henley Passport Index. Nations with greater visa-free access are shown larger at the top, while those with severe travel restrictions are smaller at the bottom. Made from electric wires, the installation highlights our interconnected digital world, yet exposes the persistent inequalities in global mobility caused by borders and bureaucratic obstacles.

Founded in Paris in 2010 by Alex Mor and Philippe Charpentier, mor charpentier promotes politically and socially engaged contemporary art with a focus on international artists from the Global South, exploring themes of history, migration, and sociopolitical issues.

Esther Schipper (Berlin, Paris, Seoul) presents a two-person exhibition by Tseng Chien-Ying and Prabhavathi Meppayil at the 12th edition of Asia NOW.

Tseng Chien-Ying draws on the Taiwanese tradition of Jiaocai, using mineral pigments and glue to create layered, dreamlike scenes populated by ambiguous figures, spirits, and hybrid beings. Studs, piercings, beads, and jewelry recur as motifs, balancing ornament with an undercurrent of violence.

Prabhavathi Meppayil, born into a family of goldsmiths in Bangalore, transforms traditional goldsmithing tools and techniques into sculpture. Her new bronze works are cast from Achch, hand-beaten metal molds traditionally used by goldsmiths. Their irregular, worn forms preserve the traces of a craft increasingly displaced by mechanized production.

Founded in Cologne in 1989, Esther Schipper has developed an international program supporting artists and fostering institutional and cross-cultural exchange. With galleries in Berlin, Paris, and Seoul, the gallery presents exhibitions alongside performances, lectures, and events.

For Asia NOW Paris, JD Malat Gallery (London, Dubai) presents Masayoshi Nojo (Japan), Lu Xinjian (China), and Sophie-Yen Bretez (Vietnam/France), three artists whose practices explore memory, place, identity, and perception through distinct contemporary visual languages.

Drawing from Japanese painting traditions, urban mapping and design, and dream-like figurative narratives respectively, the artists transform personal, cultural, and geographical references into layered reflections on how we experience, interpret, and remember the world around us. Together, their works create a dialogue between tradition and contemporary experience, individual and collective memory, and the diverse cultural perspectives that continue to shape Asian art today. Through these three practices, the presentation highlights how artists can engage with inherited visual languages while reimagining them through personal experience and contemporary perspectives.

Since its establishment in 2018, JD Malat Gallery has supported both established and emerging artists, with a focus on promoting underrepresented voices in the contemporary art world. Specialising in a diverse range of media, including sculpture and painting, the gallery represents 20 international artists whose innovative work challenges and expands the boundaries of contemporary art. Located in the heart of Mayfair, London, and Downtown, Dubai, JD Malat Gallery provides a significant international platform for its artists through a meticulously curated exhibition program and participation in art fairs worldwide. LOY Contemporary Art Gallery (Singapore) presents Silence Between Forms – a duo show highlighting the distinct practices of Chinese contemporary artist Liu Bin and Japanese Architect-ceramicist Yuki Nara.

At the 12th edition of Asia NOW, this exhibition proposes that silence is not an absence of meaning, but an active, breathing void. The synergy between Liu’s two-dimensional brushstrokes and Nara’s three-dimensional ceramics sparks a generative intersection and dialogue. Both artists profoundly destabilise inherited cultural iconographies, subverting traditional, instantly recognisable motifs through a distinctly contemporary lens.

LOY Contemporary Art Gallery, founded in 2023, is dedicated to identifying, promoting, and cultivating global and local artists in Singapore. Spazio Nobile (Brussels) presents Pleats - a duo show of Pat Hui Kao and Didi Ng Wing Yin.

Pleats explores the poetic and structural language of folding as a shared gesture across materials, cultures, and continents. At Asia Now, the exhibition brings into dialogue the works of Pao Hui Kao, a woman artist and designer from Taiwan based in Eindhoven, and Didi Ng Wing Yin, a Hong Kongese designer based in Helsinki. Both artists translate pleating into their respective practices—paper for Kao and wood for Ng Wing Yin—creating a conversation that bridges East and West through material, technique, and sensibility. Pao Hui Kao’s delicate Original and Urushi Paper Pleats evoke lightness and ephemerality, where folds shape space and capture luminous moments. In contrast, Didi Ng Wing Yin carves and splits wood into sculptural pleats, revealing the grain within and conveying strength, permanence, and architectural presence. Together, their works engage in a dialogue between fragility and solidity, surface and structure, tradition and innovation, resulting in a series of collectable vessels and furniture pieces that blur the boundaries between art, design, and cultural expression.

Both have been finalists of the LOEWE FOUNDATION Craft Prize, respectively in 2022 and 2025. Spazio Nobile has published Artist Books on both following their duo shows, 25 Seasons and The Nature of Wood.

Spazio Nobile is a contemporary applied and fine arts gallery in Brussels, Belgium, known for its bold exhibitions and commitment to promoting innovative, boundary-pushing work. The gallery presents a range of emerging and established artists and designers from around the world, providing a platform for experimental practices and new creative directions in both fine art and collectable design.
