We are delighted to take part in Paper Positions-Berlin, 2026. TG’s stand will explore the theme of Information/Non-Information through the works of Ixone Sadaba (Bilbao, Spain) and Ernesto Leal (Habana, Cuba). The challenge of obtaining knowledge in a world saturated with words and images.

Sadaba’s Gulala series are black and white close-up images of human traces, made on the walls and ceilings of an enclosed space. Printed on newsprint, a material we consume and throw away.

Leal’s paintings explore the cross-over and blurring of lines between images and words; the use and misuse of language, that words have no fixed meaning but depend on their context

Over the weekend, I was in a town just north of Munich, visiting the house of a female collector, it was really great to see again this work from series Poetics of Disappearance by the photographer Ixone Sádaba. A different feeling seeing it in the context of a home environment. It also reminded me of the incredible collections being curated by women around the world.

This series which consists of five works is both visually and technically intriguing. An edition of the whole series is in the Guggenheim Bilbao permanent collection, and to quote the museum:

¨The artist leaves the camera in a fixed position opposite the bed and takes long exposures of about 25 to 30 seconds during which she moves incessantly in front of the lens…..Because of the long exposure with the diaphragm left open for a long time, her body appears blurred, except for the parts that freeze when the flash goes off.¨

Mujere de Letras - Woman of Letters one of the most popular collages in Sara Huete's exhibition Mujeres Cuentan - Women Count - currently showing at Tasneem Gallery. This piece made of so few elements but so evocative, with layered meaning. Is it celebrating women's entry into equal oppurtunities or that they still have to suppress and.hide their talent in order to be accepted. It reminded me of Mary Ann Evans who used the pen name George Eliot so that her books would be taken seriously. Are women still under the viel?

You can see the exhibition from Tuesday to Thursday 17.00 to 20.00 or by appointment. Please call+34 647862697
