Rome, 1985–1987 — Egyptian artist George Bahgoury was awarded the First International Prize for Caricature.

Renowned for his expressive lines, vibrant colors and distinctive visual language, Bahgoury transformed caricature and portraiture into a powerful artistic statement. From Cairo to Paris, his work crossed cultural boundaries while remaining deeply rooted in Egyptian identity.

Today, his artistic legacy continues to inspire generations of artists and art lovers around the world.
