The exhibition will be open in interactive installation format today and next weekend from 15-18.
In addition, there will be a guided listening session with the artist on October 18.

Understrømme is a minimalist site-specific sound installation that invites visitors to enter a collective soundscape. Each participant contributes with a distinct frequency that merges - or interferes - with the sounds of the room, creating subtle shifts in the soundscape.

As an experiment, the piece emerges through the interaction between fixed and mobile layers of sine tones. The number of participants, their movement, and positioning directly influence the acoustics, shaping interference patterns and resonances within the bunker’s architecture. While the frequencies remain the same, each visitor entering the space creates a new composition. The individual presence, or absence, becomes structurally significant to the overall sound.
The work explores how significant the smallest of changes, the addition of a single tone, can have on the composition and our ability to listen.

Alexander Brix Tillegreen works across sound, image and spatial composition, exploring how perception and embodied listening produce meaning. His practice engages psychoacoustics and participative structures, where the listener’s presence and perception actively shape the work.

The exhibition is commissioned by platform BUNKER at curated by Lukas Quist Lund, Rebekka Bohse Meyer and Sól Ey.

Alexander Brix Tillegreen — Understrømme on October 9-18

Understrømme is a site-specific sound installation created for the bunker. Inside the space, continuous frequencies form a stable yet slowly shifting sonic landscape. Visitors enter in small groups and activate additional tones, with their presence, movement and positioning directly shaping the composition.

The work explores how individual actions can become part of a collective sonic structure. Each presence — or absence — affects the overall sound, turning personal devices into collective instruments and listening into a shared, co-creative act.

For Kulturnatten on October 9, a special performative version of Understrømme will take place throughout the evening, with the installation intertwining with live performances for clarinet and accordion.

Alexander Tillegreen - Understrømme on October 9 from 18-24

For Kulturnatten, platform BUNKER presents a special performative version of Understrømme by Alexander Brix Tillegreen – a site-specific sound installation that invites the audience to enter a shared sonic landscape, where their movements and presence become part of the work.

Drawing on the bunker’s distinctive acoustics, Tillegreen creates a multichannel sound work of shifting sine tones and psychoacoustic movements, which throughout the evening will intertwine with a music performance for clarinet (Joss Smith) and accordion (Jónas Ásgeir Ásgeirsson).

Thank you to everyone who came yesterday to the opening of Nature's Q***r Performativity by Ninna Steen.
The exhibition is open the next two weekends (Friday-Sunday) from 15-18.

On Sunday September 27, we will also host an artist talk with Ninna Steen, moderated by video artist Magnus Pind. The talk offers an insight to the artistic process and concept of the work.

Nature's Q***r Performativity is a site-specific installation that uses architectural video mapping to transform platform BUNKER into an animated, living, breathing hemisphere, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in a contemplative encounter with the unknown.

Exploring the performativity of nature, the installation merges visual art, video mapping technology, philosophy, and architecture through an associative practice. platform BUNKER is transformed into a fluctuating universe that physically and mentally evolves around the visitors, where strange and weird aspects of existence flow, blend, and transform. Phenomena across scales are connected through an analogy-creating process, linking large-scale cosmic phenomena with subatomic ghost particles and hylozoic considerations about the nature of reality. The installation encourages an embrace of the strange, uncanny, and q***r as essential aspects of existence, placing visitors in an intimate sensory chamber of wonder, where dead stars haunt, black holes dance, and quantum particles form pairs.

The collaborative practice of Nanna Elvin Hansen and Eliza Bożek (moltamole) is rooted in field recording and collective listening as methods for attending to landscapes, watery bodies and the political conditions that shape them. Together they have developed sonic research into the extractive landscape of the quartzite quarry at the Giemaš mountain in Sápmi, Norway - resulting in a radio live-stream, a vinyl release and the audio-visual installation Waters at Quarry, Waters that Carry.

The audio-visual installation Waters at Quarry, Waters that Carry explores the politicisation of the underground from the perspective of water. With the rising need for minerals for new technologies, including green technologies such as solar panels and wind turbines, demand is ever-increasing, and the subterranean is becoming increasingly politicised. Extractivism not only creates scars in the landscape by wresting minerals from the underground but also proliferates zones of dispute, sacrifice, and transformation.
Waterways play a central role in the extraction of minerals, as they function as infrastructure for transportation and the supply of power around mining sites.
