We decided to open our doors to a glass artist who was given the opportunity to use our glass workshop!
As part of Creative Glass 2026 - an initiative co-funded by the EU - four different artists have been given the opportunity to work in our glass workshop. Each artist is creating a piece that explores themes of sustainability and glass craftsmanship.
Over the past week, Slovenian artist Meta Mramor has been working on her piece. Meta is creating a massive hourglass weighing around 25 kg.
Her work focuses specifically on sand and time, addressing both material resources and time itself as a finite resource.
Meta’s piece is an hourglass-shaped structure containing enough sand to run for a full 24 hours; the sand was donated by Næstved Sten og Grus, a company that extracts sand from the seabed off Karrebæksminde.
