Thank you to everyone who visited Connected: A Dialogue Between Nature and Craft during 3daysofdesign.

Across three days, the exhibition presented works exploring the relationship between nature and craft through a range of materials, perspectives and practices. Alongside the exhibition, workshops, tea ceremonies and shared gatherings opened up further conversations around making and material knowledge.

Thank you to the participating artists, collaborators and visitors who joined us in Copenhagen.

A special thank you to Norm Architects for designing the exhibition setting and to Tyst Te, .studio, Amalie Svarre Nielsen and Hedestrik for contributing to the programme.

For our upcoming exhibition Rodfæstet, Sara Martinsen works with wild grass harvested on Bornholm, shaping it into tactile surfaces and sculptural forms that remain closely connected to the landscape it comes from.

Working between art and material research, her practice is rooted in a careful attention to how materials behave and transform, and in how their inherent qualities can be made visible through process and composition.

Rodfæstet reflects on our relationship to materials and resources, and on the value of understanding where they come from and how they can be worked with in a more considered and attentive way.

The curation process for Connected: A Dialogue Between Nature and Craft has been extensive and highly personal. Galleri Sonja founders Birgit and Jimmy have traveled across Europe to hand-collect artists’ pieces, and artists have flown in from as far as Japan to create their works on-site. It’s through this kind of work that connections between makers and communities are strengthened—in real life, with human touch.
