Einmal im Kreis um einen Planeten, den es nicht gibt.
Dominique Gonzalez-Foersters „Cosmirama“ erstreckt sich in unserer Ausstellung „Zu den Sternen!“ über einen ganzen Raum. Auf diesem erfundenen Mikroplaneten treffen Figuren aus Literatur und Film auf Menschen aus der Zeitgeschichte und dem Umfeld der Künstlerin. Manche erkennt man sofort, andere erst auf den zweiten Blick.
Insgesamt haben wir 39 Stationen markiert. Die Tafel im Raum hilft bei der Suche, doch das Panorama lässt sich kaum auf einmal erfassen. Man folgt einer Figur, bleibt an einer anderen hängen und entdeckt immer neue Referenzen.
Auch die Bücher, die Gonzalez-Foerster begleitet und inspiriert haben, tauchen im Raum wieder auf: als Kissen. Man kann sich also buchstäblich auf die Literatur setzen und weiterschauen.

Once around a planet that doesn’t exist.
Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster’s „Cosmirama“ stretches across an entire room in „To the Stars!“. On this imagined microplanet, characters from literature and film meet figures from contemporary history and people from the artist’s own circle. Some are instantly recognisable, others take a little longer to spot.
We have marked 39 points throughout the panorama. A guide in the room helps with the search, but Cosmirama is impossible to take in all at once. You follow one figure, pause at another and keep discovering new references.
The books that have accompanied and inspired Gonzalez-Foerster reappear in the room as cushions. So you can quite literally sit on the literature behind this cosmos and keep looking.
