Jason Anderson’s paintings transform landscapes, skylines, and seascapes into vibrant compositions poised between recognition and abstraction. Constructed from bold, mosaic-like passages of colour, his works retain the atmosphere and spatial depth of the places that inspire them while freeing them from literal representation. Light seems to emerge from within the paintings, bringing structure and movement to their richly textured surfaces. From a distance, fragments of colour coalesce into luminous, atmospheric scenes; viewed up close, they dissolve into an abstract interplay of paint, texture, and gesture. It is this continual movement between image and abstraction that gives Anderson’s work its distinctive energy and presence.
