We're very excited to be collaborating with Angela's Murder Mystery Games to bring you, The Inheritance! A spooky murder mystery event

October 16 & 17, 2026 at 6pm at the Yarmouth County Museum
As people gather for the reading of a will, the night takes a dark turn no one could have predicted. There has been a murder right under your eyes.... how could this have happened? Can you uncover the truth? What has actually taken place in this terrifying mansion?
$50/person (Advanced registration required)

Registration is now open by calling the Museum at 902-742-5539 (ask for Lisette). Participants can choose between two nights and to be either a "character" who will help move the story along or an "observer" who gets to watch the mystery unfold, with both roles trying to solve it

Our upcoming Monthly Historical Society Presentation on Friday, September 4 at 7:30pm will be on The Wreck of the S. S. Hungarian

Videographer Tom Lynskey has researched this ill-fated vessel and will present his findings and the video he created to remember this tragic shipwreck that occurred on Cape Sable Island in 1860. Some special artifacts from the wreck will be on display with the program

Our Cookbook Food Sampling Event is coming up soon, get your tickets today to try an assortment of samples from our very own, Butter the Size of An Egg cookbook

Some of the samples will include, lemon sauce, biscuits, lobster chowder, plum jam, squash bisque and chocolate cake!

Also included with your ticket will be a cookbook (given at the event)

We're excited for the upcoming Cookbook Food Sampling Event that will take place Saturday, August 22

Participants will be able to try samples of some of the recipes found in the Yarmouth County Historical Society's very own cookbook, Butter the Size of an Egg.

Just a few of the samples will be, lobster chowder, plum jam and squash bisque!
