Welcome back to !

Last week's object was a ceramic hot liquid dispenser that could heat up hot drinks, or keep them warm! It was originally designed to make Beef Tea in the Victorian and Edwardian era. Beef tea was a beef broth drink that was popular at the time. This particular one was used to make hot chocolate at the Princess Ice Cream Parlour in the 1920s.

This weeks object is metal and measures 28cm wide and 21cm tall. Can you guess what it is?

Join Heritage Park Museum Director/Curator for an interactive lecture at the Terrace Public Library. The lecture will delve into the complexity of life in Terrace between 1942-1945, when over 6000 soldiers and construction workers came to the small town of approximately 400.

Following the lecture will be a question and discussion period.

Welcome back to !

Last week's object was a telegraph line insulator made with blue glass. These insulators were mounted on trees and wooden poles to hold telegraph wire and keep the wire away from the wood. These little artifacts played an important part in Terrace's communication history!
