If you've been debating participating in the Museum's Honour Our Veterans Banner Program - this is your reminder that the final day to submit an application is Monday, August 31st.

Application forms are available in person at the Swift Current Museum or online. Please bring a short biography about the veteran you are sponsoring, a portrait photograph of the veteran in uniform for us to scan, and a method of payment.

Banners are hung for 3 consecutive years over Remembrance Day, with the option to renew for another year or take the banner home with you after those 3 years are completed.

Thank you to everyone who has submitted a banner this year and every year prior. We are so grateful to be able to host this program, and look forward to many more years of honouring our veterans.

Learn about the unique contributions of Ukrainian Canadians to our country through "Canada, Here We Are!" a travelling exhibit from the Royal BC Museum now on display at the Swift Current Museum.

Created in partnership between the Royal BC Museum and the Ukrainian Canadian Congress and Honorary Consulate of Ukraine in Vancouver, "Canada, Here We Are!" looks at and celebrates the more than 1.3 million Canadians who can trace their ancestry to Ukraine, Ukrainian Canadian history and culture, and the enduring impact Ukrainians have had on life in Canada.

"Canada, Here We Are!" is on display from now until September, 2026, so be sure to stop in and check it out before its gone!

The Swift Current Museum's Lunch & Learn program is starting back up this September! On Wednesday, September 16th, from 12pm-1pm Leonard Howes will be sharing the History of Matador Ranch & Matador Farm, an important and fascinating part of prairie history.

Lunch is $14 and will be catered by The Flats, so if you are interested in a lunch, be sure to register online at https://bit.ly/4yPaUxg or by contacting the Museum before September 11th.

If you're not interested in purchasing a lunch, feel free to drop in and bring your own! The talk is free to attend, with no registration required.

The final week of summer programming has arrived! Stop by the Swift Current Museum and see what we have planned for Animal Adventure Week! Any time between 10am-12pm and 2pm-4pm we will have all kinds of animals crafts and activities for families to enjoy.

Ranger the Bison turns 75 years old next week!! You are all invited to his birthday party on August 19th! From 10am-12pm and 2pm-4pm you can stop by and celebrate by making him a special birthday card, making a bison birthday headband, and taking home a bag of treats.

Ranger also invited some very special guests to celebrate - Grasslands National Park! There will be plenty of learning, fun, and excitement, so don't miss out!

Please make sure that children remain supervised and supported during these crafts and activities. The Museum is a public space and we want to make sure everyone has a pleasant experience. Thank you!

Railway Week is starting at the Swift Current Museum! From Tuesday to Friday please drop in any time between 10am-12pm and 2pm-4pm for all kinds of train themed crafts and games! Create your own 3D train, build and customize a railroad crossing sign, craft a fun zig zag train, and try out a train themed scavenger hunt.

Please make sure that children and supervised and supported during crafts and activities.

We have been having so much fun with our Summer Programming! There are only a few weeks left of these fun, family-friendly crafts and activities. August 21st will be the final day of programs! If you have not had the chance to stop by - please do!

Drop in any time between 10am-12pm and 2pm-4pm. Please ensure that children remain supervised and supported by their guardian during crafts and activities. Keep an eye out for future posts about themed weeks, and stay tuned for more information about Ranger's Birthday Party!

It's Dino Week at the Swift Current Museum! Starting tomorrow, we will have dinosaur crafts, activities, and games! Craft a dino mask, create a flying pterodactyl, use your handprint to make your very own dinosaur, and finish off the week with a day of dino games.

All activities are free and drop in - no registration required!

Please ensure that children are supervised by an adult. Bring your family and join the fun!

This is your reminder that applications for the Museum's Honour Our Veterans Banner Program close on August 31st! If you have a veteran in your life who you would like to honour through this program, please contact the museum at (306) 778-2775, stop by in person, or visit https://bit.ly/4yPaUxg for more information and an application form.

Banners are hung up over Remembrance Day in and around Memorial Park. After 3 consecutive years, you have the option of a 1 year renewal, or taking the banner home.
