🌈 PA Day Fun at the Museum!

Celebrate Pride Month with creativity, colour, and community next Friday, June 5th at the Museum!

Children and families can learn basic hand sewing techniques while creating their own pocket-sized felt rainbow to take home. This hands-on craft is perfect for ages 6+ and is a fun way to celebrate PRIDE while learning a new skill.

There’s something special about seeing a community come together for a shared space.

From raking and pruning to hauling branches and sharing laughs in the sunshine, our Cleaning the Capital day was filled with helping hands, kind people, and so much community spirit.

Because of our amazing volunteers, the Museum grounds are looking refreshed and ready for the season ahead. The beautiful flower donations have also really made the space extra special, thank you to all the awesome gardeners in our community who shared their perennials.

Thank you to everyone who spent part of their day giving back, every little bit truly makes a difference.

Join us at Goulbourn Museum during this year’s Doors Open Ottawa on June 6 & 7 from 10 AM to 4 PM for a special weekend celebrating local heritage, craftsmanship, and community connection.

We are excited to welcome the talented members of Ottawa Olde Forge Rug Hooking, who will be demonstrating the timeless art of traditional rug hooking throughout the weekend. Watch beautiful textile works come to life, learn about the history behind this cherished craft, and connect with the artisans helping keep these traditions alive today.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to explore the rich history of Goulbourn Township through stories, exhibits, and conversations with Museum staff inside the historic Old Town Hall, home to the Goulbourn Museum and an important part of our local heritage.

Whether you are passionate about heritage arts, local history, or simply looking for a meaningful and inspiring outing, we invite you to spend the weekend with us celebrating the creativity and spirit of our community.

Reminder! 🌿

Tomorrow we’ll be tidying up the Museum grounds for our Cleaning the Capital event.

We’re still looking for plants to help brighten our gardens for the season! If you’ve divided or thinned out your perennials this Spring, we would be so grateful for a few extras to add to our garden beds.

Plant donations can be dropped off anytime between 10 AM and 4 PM.

Thank you for helping us keep the Museum beautiful and welcoming for everyone!

The tulips are blooming, the city is buzzing, and it’s the perfect weekend to wander a little further 🌷

If you’re out enjoying the Tulip Festival opening weekend and looking for another lovely stop along the way, we would love to welcome you to the museum OPEN 10am to 4pm today! Step inside, slow down for a moment, and enjoy a little piece of local history, community, and charm.

As we look ahead to next weekend’s Clean the Capital event, we are also beginning to freshen up our museum gardens 🌱 If you’re spending time in your own garden this weekend and happen to have a few extra plants, divided perennials, or flowers to share, we would gratefully welcome donations to help our gardens bloom for the season ahead. Spring has sprung… and our yard noticed 😄🌱

We are rolling up our sleeves for Cleaning the Capital and we would love a few extra hands (and rakes!) to help us get the museum grounds looking their best for the season ahead.
