This Wednesday: History comes to life at Goulbourn Museum!

Forget simply reading about the past. What if you could explore the equipment, hear the music and discover the stories behind a soldier’s life?

Join us on Wednesday, October 21, 2026 for Hands-On History: 100th Regiment Music & Military Presentation, presented in partnership with the 100th Regiment.

During this special evening, you will discover how fifes, drums and bugles shaped military life, get a closer look at authentic uniforms and infantry equipment, and hear stories from the regiment’s history.

And the evening ends on a high note — with a live musical performance and Q&A!

Whether you love local history, have an interest in military heritage, or are simply curious about life in the early 1800s, there is so much to discover.

Thank you for growing our first Heart Garden 🌸

This summer, our Heart Garden flourished thanks to you. Together, we shared 50 heartfelt messages of hope, remembrance, and reconciliation, creating a living space for reflection and connection.

Your words amongst blooming flowers remind us that healing begins with community. As we close the gardening season, we thank everyone who participated and look forward to growing together again next year.

Join us for a spook-tacular time filled with creepy crafts and enchanting face painting! Our talented face painting artist will be on site from 11am to 1pm to add the perfect finishing touches to your Halloween costumes. 🎨🦇

Create your own spider lollipops, personalized trick or treat bags, and glowing pumpkin lanterns! And don’t forget to swing by the front desk for a delicious sweet treat when you’re done!

Imagine a time when fifes, drums and bugles helped soldiers keep time, communicate commands and take part in military ceremonies.

Next Wednesday, step into the world of the 100th Regiment of Foot for an evening of music, military heritage and hands-on history at Goulbourn Museum!

🎶 The music and instruments that shaped a soldier’s day

Contribute to the Poppies of Goulbourn exhibit 🌺

Join us in honoring Remembrance Day with the annual Poppies of Goulbourn exhibition!

Drop off your poppy creations into our donation bin outside the museum anytime! You are also welcome to stop in during museum hours Fridays and Saturdays 10am to 4pm to make an in person delivery.

The deadline is Monday, October 26, 2026.

This moving display invites you to reflect on the profound significance of Remembrance Day.

Today, on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we're spending some time with Spirit Bear!

This October, the Spirit Bear and Children Make History exhibition will arrive at the Goulbourn Museum. Through Spirit Bear's journey, visitors will discover how children and youth of many backgrounds are standing together for what Elder Elmer Courchene described as "loving justice" in First Nations children's services, and how you can help make a difference.
