A fleeting moment, caught in colour. "Yellow Warbler at Beaver Pond" by Mark Stephenson.

This 23.5 x 18.5 piece, created with acrylic ink and watercolor, brings to life a rare and vivid sighting:

“I spotted this Yellow Warbler at Beaver Pond, high near the top of a tree, a small burst of pure yellow against the spring green. Even at that height it read like a little drop of sunlight, small and quick, with warm yellow plumage that can look almost unreal when it catches the light. It was the kind of sighting that makes you stop mid-walk and just listen, hoping for that bright, whistled song people often hear as ‘sweet sweet sweet, I’m so sweet,’ before it slips back into the leaves. I’ve only seen these all-yellow warblers a couple of times, so it felt like a rare gift, brief, bright, and easy to miss if I wasn’t looking up.” (Stephenson)
