We are excited to share that author Shannon Kyles will be in St. Marys on Wednesday, June 10 to share her new book “The Story of Ontario Architecture: What We Built and Why We Built It.”

In the presentation, Shannon shares an overview of the reasons why builders and designers chose the styles that they did, and how they affect the town and its residences. The book builds on her website OntarioArchitecture.com, which launched in 1999.

The presentation and book signing will be held at the St. Marys Museum at 7 PM. No registration is required for this event. The book will be available for purchase for $60 plus tax, supplied by Betty’s Bookshelf. Betty’s Bookshelf

We’re thrilled at the turnout for last night’s screening of We Lend a Hand: The Forgotten Story of Ontario Farmerettes. It was fantastic to see the Community Centre filled with people interested in learning about this important history.

We’re incredibly grateful to our sponsors for their support in bringing the film to St. Marys and helping us offer an afternoon screening for DCVI students. The Backseat Girls gave a wonderful performance, and Peter Rice shared the story of his mother Adelaide “Dale” Rice and her time as a Farmerette.

Thank you to Bonnie Sitter for all of your hard work in bringing these stories to light. We were honoured to have Gloria Carter, an original Farmerette, in attendance.
