It’s time for another Throwback Thursday! This week we’re featuring "Sailing the Bay of Fundy", one of Sir William Van Horne’s original paintings displayed at Covenhoven.
Best known for his role in the Canadian Pacific Railway, Van Horne was also a passionate self-taught artist. He often painted late into the night in his studio or at the bathhouse, believing spontaneity was one of art’s greatest qualities. Many of his works were completed quickly, capturing the energy and atmosphere of the Bay of Fundy landscapes he loved so much.
Visit Covenhoven to discover more than a dozen of Van Horne’s original paintings displayed throughout the home.
