This Prince Albert lettering displayed above our front doors at the Historical Museum is originally from the last train station in Prince Albert.

It is located on 3rd Avenue East on 15th Street near the Central Avenue Viaduct. It was originally constructed in 1958 by the CN Railway Company. The building today houses the Sushi House restaurant. This lettering was displayed on the west side of the train station showing the city's name for incoming trains.

To see more artefacts and pieces of Prince Albert history, come by the Historical Museum 9-4 from Monday to Thursday or by appointment on Fridays!

We are excited to announce our Mini Explorer's Session for Friday October 16th from 10:00am - 12:00pm. This session will be themed around the history of Halloween, and allow participants to carve their own mini pumpkin!

This is a free drop-in session that is available to youth aged 4-7. Any youth that participates must be accompanied by an adult.

Have you heard of our Traveling Museum Suitcase Program?

This is a program created and assembled in collaboration with SUNTEP students. It allows for the booking of many different suitcases that contain touchable artefacts, interpretive notes, and educational material.

This allows the opportunity to bring part of the Prince Albert Historical Museum to you, and can be utilized seamlessly by educators!

The Historical Society is looking for an individual to come work for us as Programming and Outreach Coordinator for a one year term position.
This position supports the mandate of the PAHS through the implementation and delivery of educational and public programs to a diverse audience. Programs are delivered at any of the four museums run by the PAHS.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Become familiar with all aspects of the PAHS
- Facilitate existing programs, with an understanding of all activities
- Develop, schedule, and deliver school and public programs, both on and off site.
- Create and monitor the Society’s social media pages (Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube)
- Implement a variety of learning strategies to engage diverse audiences.
- Liaise between school boards, educational facilities, and cultural organizations and the Historical Society to present relevant programs.
- General office and other duties as assigned.

We have found a lost Saskatchewan Identification Card outside our museum this morning.

This model of the Marquis showcases the appearance of a historically influential steamboat made for our river system, It was the largest and finest of the Saskatchewan Fleet.

Unfortunately, the Marquis faced problems due to the unpredictable water level's and shifting sandbars. Although, In 1885 the ship was used to transport General Middleton's troops between Battleford and Fort Pitt during the Northwest Resistance.

The Marquis was beached at Cumberland House in 1887 and then later hauled to Prince Albert in 1890 in hopes that it could continued to be used. Instead, the Marquis remained on shore and became a dancehall.
