As many of you already know, META4's studio is a busy place! This summer we've been able to offer everything from drawing and painting to felting, pottery and enamelling. It's a chance for adults to continue their creative journey and have some fun. Learning isn't just for kids! Although for many years we offered a children's summer art camp program, we now focus exclusively on adult and teen learners. You might wonder why.

Firstly, we believe strongly that exploring and learning something new is vitally important for adults and seniors. We want to keep our brains sharp! It's also enormous fun. We make new friends, get out of our comfort zones in a safe way and discover new talents we thought we had, maybe wished we had but didn't know we already possessed, or that are a real surprise. We are very proud of our instructors and their abilities to convey knowledge and bring out the best. Our minimum age for workshops and courses is fourteen and we don't make exceptions to this, for several reasons. Mainly, adults learn differently than kids, and our course content is geared to mature students. Also, for many adults, taking a workshop or course is an investment in "me time", a chance to leave the responsibilities of home, work and childcare at the door and focus on your own creativity.

The studio is often a place of lively discussion while making art. The freedom to be ourselves is an important part of artistic expression and we hope to nurture that in our studio. So if this sounds like something fun, possibly a little scary (if it's been a while), we invite you to dip your toe in the waters of artistic creativity. If it's something you want to explore on your own, we have a great selection of art supplies, including paints and supports for oils, watercolours & acrylics; drawing and printmaking supplies and more. If there's something specific you need, we'll do our best to order it in for you. If you're looking for inspiration, we have a gallery full of unique, original and exceptional works by Ontario artists to get the wheels turning.

Join artist Christy Haldane for a copper enameling intensive workshop where you'll create one-of-a-kind jewelry. During this hands-on class, you will learn how to shape, clean and prepare a copper blank for enameling and learn different techniques to create unique designs. Christy will teach you how to safely fire your work in a kiln as you learn how to let the glass powders flow. You will not only learn a new skill during this workshop you will also leave with at least one set of earrings or a pendant. Perfect for beginners and enthusiasts alike, this hands-on experience offers creativity and craftsmanship in a fun, engaging environment.

On a day with planetary alignments, solar eclipses and meteor showers, we celebrate our amazing artists who magnificently capture the awe and wonder of the skies.

Like in Karen Richardson's *Finding Peace.* Finding Peace is a small but beautiful original watercolour, one of Karen's new miniatures series. "Years ago while cruising Georgian Bay one overcast afternoon, I saw this cabin hunkered down on a rocky point. It made me wonder who lived there and what their life was like. In this painting, I imagined how the scene would appear after sunset, with the Milky Way leading a celestial trail to the cabin."
