Memory Lane Heritage Village is an award winning living history museum depicting coastal rural life in Nova Scotia during the 1940s, including life during and after the Second World War. We are open Wednesday to Sunday, 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM (open late on Thursdays to 7:30 PM). Operating season June to end of September. Memory Lane Heritage Village is located in We'kwask in Miꞌkmaꞌki, the ancestral t

erritory of the Mi'kmaq People. The Village is owned and operated by the Lake Charlotte Area Heritage Society, a not-for-profit community organization. The Society’s mission is to inspire an enduring appreciation for the heritage of the Eastern Shore in both residents and visitors.

Ted, Grant, and Ford had a rollicking good time at last weekend's 1940s Evening of Frolic. So many Villagers to play with, and they even got to stay up past their bedtime! Our little kittens are growing up so fast, eh.

Happy Fuzzy Friday, folks! The kittens will likely be here until mid-September and Memory Lane Heritage Village is open until September 30th, so there's still lots of time to come visit and say hi.

To Victory!
The 1940s Evening of Frolic brought Memory Lane Heritage Village to life in a way that few events could. It was everything we'd hoped it would be, despite the rain, and we want to thank each and every person who came out.

A huge thank you goes out to Breeze Street Jazz who donated their time to this summer garden party fundraiser. You kept us serenaded and dancing all evening long. The night would not have been what it was without you!

And lastly, thank you to all the volunteers who made this event happen. From conception to creation, and from cocktails to croquet. Every mallet hit, badminton thwap, twirl, tap, cheers, and smiling face and was testament to your effort. We salute you.

Dress up 1940s style to win some prizes, or come as you are! Dance the evening away with your mate, your gal, your pal, or your fella and let the August night take you back to those summer evenings of fire flies and community dances.

We'll have lawn games, cocktails/mocktails, and live music from the Breeze Street Jazz Band. Memory Lane is community owned and operated and this event is a fundraiser put on by our dedicated volunteers. So come on out and show your support.

Grant is always up for a good ol' chat, and Ford and Ted have reserved the bench just for you! So come wander the Heritage Village this weekend to snuggle some kittens and lean into these lazy, hazy late summer days.

Memory Lane is open Wednesday to Sunday from 9:30am to 4pm. Located less than an hour from Halifax on Nova Scotia's scenic Eastern Shore.

When the Heritage Village acquired this 1928 Model A Ford back in 2005, Fred and his brother were two of the key members who restored this car back to its original glory.

For some folks on the Eastern Shore, their very first ride in any motor vehicle was in this very car! It's an irreplacable 'working artifact' in the museum collection.

This video is titled "Things That Go: Go For A Drive" and was filmed back in 2015.... Find it on our YouTube Channel, where we share stories, and highlight life in the 1940s on Nova Scotia's Eastern Shore.
