Join us on Sunday August 24th at 4:00 pm for the BOOK LAUNCH of War on the Homefront: The Canso Defence Zone.
Meet the author, Gerry Madigan.

"Half of the first troops that served in the Canso Defence Area, were residents of Guysborough, that were recruited and trained here. The story of how they were brought together, was the story of war on the Homefront in Canada." - War on the Homefront, The Canso Defence Zone.

Light refreshments and treats will be served. All welcome.

If you are interested in purchasing a copy of the book, limited supplies will be available at the Mulgrave Heritage Centre Aug. 24 for the book launch, cost is $25. Note: The museum will be open for those who wish to visit our War and Remembrance exhibit.

July 21, 2025 - it may be a dull and dreary start to the day but that just means you find something to do inside. The museum is the perfect place to while away the hours, rain or shine. Brush up on your Mulgrave history (consider it trivia prep), browse through the images of the town’s past or plan your next road trip. The Mulgrave Heritage Centre is also a Visitor Information Centre and has a variety of maps and destination information from all over Nova Scotia. Open 10 am - 3 pm. Drop by, we would love to welcome you aboard.

Our thanks to Robyn Meagher for joining us this afternoon for the unveiling of her 1996 Olympic Uniform. This is the start of our Hall of Fame display and a rededication of her uniform in new cabinetry crafted by local carpenter Gerald Chaisson. Thank you to our community for joining us, it’s great to see a full house at the museum.
