Hi everyone who missed the Gouache workshops (What is Gouache) this summer.
Gouache is an opaque, matte, creamy, velvety type of watercolour that is so unique it has its own name. The danger of falling in love with using it is real, so live on the wild side.

Loyalist College in Belleville and the Port Hope campuses are offering Valerie Kent workshops through the Summer Arts Experience starting on July 6th. I will be offering the following workshops, and if you are Art Curious, please feel free to sign up and join the creatives in the studio.

July 8 - 10 in Port Hope: Gouache (Landscapes). Gouache is a type of watercolour that is both opaque and dries matte. A lovely medium to work with and also great for plein air.

What is Gouache? It is a 1500 years-young kissing cousin to watercolours. It is water-based, matte, opaque, and has vibrant colours, great for plein air and easily portable, and is the hottest thing internationally since forever.

I have been thinking about the Gouache Workshop I will be teaching at Loyalist College in Port Hope, July 27 to July 31. Five days to get fully immersed in a new, hot medium that is 1,500 years old. What? It is being rediscovered internationally as the most fun you can get in a tube. It is a kissing cousin of Watercolour, but it is velvety matte, opaque, loves to be layered,
and has so many lovely traits. Registration is now open. Two-day Gouache workshop in Belleville.
