🎄 Teachers, it’s time to book your Christmas field trips!

Medalta’s Christmas Field Trips are happening November 23 – December 11, 2026, and these popular school visits fill up quickly each year.

If you’re hoping to bring your class to Medalta this holiday season, we recommend booking now. If you wait until November to book, your preferred date and time will likely already be full!

📆 DATES: November 23 – December 11, 2026

⏰ TIME: Field trips are approximately 2 hours long, with time slots available to work with your school day.

💰 We have already been notified that certain "gmail" accounts are fraudulently communicating as Medalta and asking for e-transfer payments to be sent to them.

Again, we will only ever communicate from "Medalta.org" accounts, but we advise to even double-check those for suspicious activity as scammers have gotten quite good at impersonating businesses.

🍂 Fall is better with a little clay!

Our Clay Explorers classes are back this October, with 8 weeks of hands-on creativity for every age from 2–15.

From little ones creating alongside a grown-up to older kids and teens taking on more challenging projects, each class is designed for their age group and gives them plenty of opportunities to shape, sculpt, paint, experiment and create something all their own. 🎨

🧡 Ages 2–4 | Mondays 9:15-10:00am (Adult + Child)

💛 Ages 5–7 | Tuesdays 4:00–5:00pm

💚 Ages 8–11 | Mondays 4:00–5:15pm

If you’ve ever wondered how a handful of raw ingredients turns into the colours, textures, and surfaces you see on finished ceramics, our NEW Beginner Glaze Mixing class is your chance to find out!

Stephanie Arnot studied volcanology before pursuing ceramics, graduating from Selkirk College’s Ceramics program and earning her BFA in Ceramics from Alberta University of the Arts. Her own work explores minerals, geological processes, colour and texture, so she knows a thing or two about what happens when art and earth science collide. 👀

Over four classes, Stephanie will take the mystery out of glaze mixing as you learn about different ingredients, experiment with recipes, mix your own glazes and see how your tests turn out after firing.
