What an honour to welcome the Governor General of Canada to Medalta! 🇨🇦

During the Special Olympics Canada Summer Games Medicine Hat 2026, we had the privilege of welcoming Her Excellency the Right Honourable Louise Arbour, Governor General of Canada, to Medalta as part of the "Family & Friends" Reception.

The evening brought athletes, families, and friends together at our historic site to celebrate the incredible community surrounding Special Olympics. Having the Governor General join us made an already special evening even more memorable.

Her visit to Medicine Hat marked both her first time in our city and the first time a Governor General has attended the Special Olympics Canada Summer Games.

We were incredibly proud to see Medalta and Medicine Hat play a part in such an unforgettable week and to welcome visitors from across Canada to our community. ❤️

Thank you to everyone who helped make the Family & Friends Reception, and the entire week of the Games, so special!

📚 We’re looking for a Bookkeeper & Administrative Assistant to join our growing team!

This is one of those behind-the-scenes roles that helps keep our organization running smoothly including bookkeeping, payroll, office administration, donor records, and the day-to-day details & administration assistance.

If you’re organized, comfortable with numbers, and enjoy being the person who keeps things on track, we’d love to hear from you!

This is a full-time, permanent position with a salary of $50,000.
