Come celebrate HERITAGE DAY with us at the Maple Creek Heritage Festival, this SATURDAY, July 4! The Art Gallery will be hosting a "Meet & Greet" Artist Reception with internationally acclaimed indigieous artist, MICHAEL LONECHILD. Having won many prestigeous awards for his significant contributions to the cultural landscape of Saskatchewan, Michael's artwork is featured internationally, including the Canadian Embassy in Washington D.C. On our recent journey home from the U.S. at the Canadian/U.S border crossing, we were surprised and deeply moved by a stunning large-scale painting at the border into Saskatchewan by the one and only Michael Lonechild!!. A beautiful welcome home, a great testament to the impat and significance of his work, and a great honor to present his paintings here at the Broken Spoke Fine Art Gallery.
This is a wonderful opportunity to meet Michael in person and hear the inspiring stories behind each painting, and experience the rich heritage and deep personal connection woven into each piece. Michael's peaceful spirit and humility and his warm and humble nature give you a real connection to his heritage and his Nation's history.
