The Miyazaki House (formerly the Longford House) in Lillooet, British Columbia is an elegant, Second Empire-style house built by Caspar and Cerise Phair in the 1880s. "Artie" Phair was next to live in the house. Phair was instrumental in bringing Dr. Masajiro Miyazaki from the Bridge River relocation camp in Shalalth to Lillooet to replace the local Doctor in 1945, and Miyazaki served in that capa

city. Although only an osteopath by credentials, he also served in the capacity of doctor and dentist, and by 1945 was living in Longford House. Dr. Miyazaki bought the house legally from Artie's son, Harold Phair, in 1947. The house was then used as Dr. Miyazaki's office and home until he donated it to the community of Lillooet in 1983.

We’re thrilled to announce that the Miyazaki House is CLOSED for renovations — until further notice — and it’s all in the name of preserving and enhancing this beautiful historic gem in the heart of Lillooet! 🛠️❤️

This is not just any renovation — it's a revitalization of one of our community’s most cherished landmarks. Over the coming month, you may notice construction crews, tools, and a bit of dust as the District of Lillooet and Lillooet Contracting work behind the scenes to restore, refresh, and protect this heritage treasure for generations to come.
