One of two … I wish I was getting more upland game birds in to do as they are extremely fun to mount.

Being lucky enough to harvest a Blue phase Ross Goose is a rare thing , then top it up with being a partially leucistic one is just extra ordinary rare. This lucky Mexican waterfowl hunter harvested this beautiful bird in Canada and now it’s going back home to his collection.
For best protection you need to double crate your bird mount with enough padding between the two.

This how the majority of Raptors are being found throughout the country. Road strikes are number one cause of death for Raptors specially eagles and 95% in winter time. Frozen lakes , lack of food forces eagles to scavenge along the roads where majority of dead deer and other animals are found, and a wrong move when upcoming vehicles approach will create the tragedy.

Skinned 9 years ago , mounted today. The owner of this Hawk is in love with rough legged hawks. Found this juvenile in 2017 and after getting ready to mount he told me to pause .. he was hoping he will come across an adult bird. He finally settled to get this one done with a pose he had held in mind since day one. Now that it’s mounted, Murphy’s law will come in to effect and he will find an adult one next week probably. They are really nice birds to mount. The skin was very tender sitting in the freezer for that many years.

This Great Horned owl was supposed to be mounted in flying ( full spread) position, but unfortunately there were a few broken wing feathers and also one wing bone was quite broken , so after discussing it with its owner plan B came to be a regular perched mount.

This juvenile Red tailed Hawk was found dead in a farm and in a very strange condition , it smelled severely bad (like cattle Manure) and it took three baths to get rid of the odour. The owner was desiring a super relaxed fluffed up pose for his bird and here it is.

Another Great Horned owl . This one was also a road victim and found before it gets late. It had minor moulting feathers which didn’t create any challenge.

Subadult female Golden Eagle ..
Cause of death : Electrocution, which lead to some singed feathers on the right scapular feathers and some on the neck feathers… considered not too bad.

These Turkeys were done part by part .. makes it a bit easier to manage but still takes a lot of time. The step by step tutorial videos are published in my YouTube channel.

If you want your mount to be protected the best way , there is nothing better than glass case.
