June 21 is National Indigenous Peoples Day! Today, consider joining in on a celebration of the history, cultures, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples! Here at the Joggins Fossil Cliffs, we're located in Mi'kma'ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi'kmaq. As individuals and institutions living in beautiful Mi’kma’ki, we are all Treaty People. We must learn from the past, help build a better future, and uphold the Peace and Friendship treaties.

We want to extend a Joggins Fossil Cliffs sized thank you to Dr. Ken Keeler for his generous donation to the Joggins Fossil Institute!

Dr. Keeler reached out to us after learning about the provincial government's budget cuts to the Department of Communities, Culture, Tourism, and Heritage and the significant impact they have on our ability to deliver our mandate. Generous contributions from individuals like Dr. Keeler and others are helping to alleviate some of the strain that impacts all of us here at the Joggins Fossil Cliffs UNESCO World Heritage Site.
