🐴 PRINCESS LOUISE: A WAR HORSE'S TALE! 🐴

The Kings County Museum is excited to welcome Andrew MacLean of Backyard History for an afternoon of fascinating storytelling and local history!

Did you know that during the Second World War, New Brunswick soldiers rescued a young horse in Italy who went on to follow Canadian troops across Europe, participate in the Liberation of the Netherlands, and eventually make her home right here in Hampton, where she was awarded Canadian citizenship?

Come discover the incredible story of Princess Louise and her remarkable journey!

📚🐴 A fascinating piece of Hampton history is coming to life at the Kings County Museum!

We’re excited to be co-hosting Princess Louise, Hampton’s Rescued War Horse with Andrew MacLean of Backyard History.

During the Second World War, New Brunswick soldiers in Italy rescued a young horse who became a beloved regimental mascot, travelled across Europe with the troops, and eventually made her way to Hampton — where she was even awarded Canadian citizenship!

Andrew will be sharing the incredible story of Princess Louise, from southern Italy and the Liberation of the Netherlands all the way to her life here in Hampton.
