NoBa - North Baltica Contemporary Arts presents Capsule.

Capsule is a collection of contemporary textile art that holds fibres, dyes, processes and natural forms. Like a seed or a time capsule, five artists - with installation by the NoBa collective - capture and contain the natural world, carrying it into a new context.

Culture, skill and innovation merge in Capsule, from hand-spun fibres to digital looms. Timothy Manalo hand weaves with spun dog hair fibres and natural dyes. Jacobo Alonso combines technology and felt layering to express the human body. Michèle Guevara translates natural textures through digital weaving. Ilze Godlevskis crochets connective forms to express light and shadow, and Elizabete Ludviks unites her practice of silversmithing with textile weaving to interpret transcendent colours of nature.

For Maquette Art Fair 2026, NoBa - North Baltica Contemporary Arts Collective (Elizabete Ludviks, Ilze Godlevskis and Diana Atvars) - create a site-specific curatorial experience. Natural materials gathered from the Hamilton area with their combined diverse material knowledge construct a floor to ceiling installation defining the NoBa Capsule exhibition.
