Hello folks, here is a rather long video ( nearly 9 minutes) of myself and Darren Connors exploring some old Logging Chutes and Dams far north of town. We do not know much of the history of the logging that took place on the Little White River / Camp 8 Creek, and would love to hear from anyone who has any insight of the history of logging in that area. This video is a series of drone and hand held clips i tossed together and added a voice over since my drone records no sound. Excuse my amateur voice over, first time i did it and i used my headset mic. Probably not the greatest choice lol. Photos coming soon!
Also coming soon, We are in the works of creating a group for locals to share their photos and videos of exploring Elliot Lake. We believe that it is the most important to see it through the eyes of everyone who is extremely active and adventurous around these parts and who has some good knowledge and history of our area.

More details to come soon as we launch a new group soon of Real locals sharing Real adventures.

Sneak Peak! We got something exciting happening this week! Hosted by Darla Hennessey, Stay tuned for the Cereal Box Challenge where each school is competing to be the cereal box champs with their donations and longest line of cereal box dominos!
Winners are not determine by how many boxes are donated, but by how far their dominos will go once it begins. We are measuring them all! So make sure you stack them just right so every box tips to better your schools chances of winning! Once it stops, even if the entire row didn't fall, thst will be your score to where you are measured in feet to.
We have times set for each school this week, so winners will not be known until the end of the week.
All cereal donated is going directly to the Elliot Lake Food Bank afterwards. If your child's school has not competed yet, there is still time to send them to school with a box of cereal or two to help their school win!

Female Baltimore Oriole
Not the greatest shot as I took this photo through my screen of the bedroom window for an ID of the bird. How the story goes is i was looking out my window watching the birds and i thought i seen an Oriole so immediately i ran outside and waited for it to come back, and of course it did not lol. So I been watching out the window all day and sure enough it came back. I didn't want to spook it as i needed a confirmed id so I just took the shot through the window. IT is in fact the female oriole as per Merlin App. Now, hopefully a male shows up! I heard a few people say they seen them in Elliot Lake before, but I needed my own proof, so here it is :) I will update you all if i happen to catch a good shot of it next time without shooting through a screen lol.

A few more warblers including 2 more I needed for my 2026 collection. The Northern Parula & Common Yellowthroat bring my current warbler chase to 20 out of 24 past captures. Still hunting for the Tennessee Warbler, Morning Warbler, Blackpole Warbler & Wilson's Warbler, although from past experience i believe the later two will be shear luck if i find them.
Other two warblers in this posted collection are the Cape May Warbler & Pine Warbler.
