This piece is a memory preserved in paint. It’s from a day I took my son and my nephew exploring on a hike. I loved watching them discover the woods together—the curiosity, the camaraderie, and the scale of the world from their perspective. This is my attempt to capture that soft light and that feeling of adventure before they outgrow the magic of a simple path through the trees.

The original is displayed at The Station art gallery in Athabasca.
