Admiral Digby Museum Open to the public from the start of May till end of September annually, with additional special event days. Researching your Digby County Roots?

Reopens May 2027 Season - Housed in a mid 1800s Georgian home, the museum features period rooms containing artifacts and archives that relate to the interesting Maritime & Pioneer history of Digby and Digby County, its people, and industries. The Admiral Digby Museum is located in a Georgian-style building, which was constructed in the mid 1800’s. One of the oldest structures in the Town of Digby, it is named in honour of Rear Admiral Robert Digby, Officer in the Royal Navy, who was in charge of arranging vessels and captains for the distribution of Loyalists from New York in 1783-1784. Spread over two floors, the museum exhibits period rooms containing furnishings and artifacts relating to the history, heritage and culture of Digby Town and County. Check out the Archives located on the 2nd floor. Visit our Tax Free Gift Shop where you’ll find our support in local authors, artists, and photographers. The building served as the Admiral Digby Library during the 1970s. It was operated by the Admiral Digby Library Association. In 1972, the Society’s name was officially changed to the Admiral Digby Library & Historical Society, of which operates the Admiral Digby Museum. Our Front Steps are finished and we're so happy with the work completed by local Batten Down Builders!

Sadly we have said goodbye to our AMAZING Summer Students, Adelaide Turner & Terrance Halliday :(
They have both headed back to University, wish wish them all the best in their studies and look forward to the Summer of 2027 when we hope they will return!
