It SNOWED in Cape Breton yesterday! What the whaaaaaa.....? Happy that it didn't snow here but would really appreciate some warmer weather.

Today's is the Bookseller of Kabul by Asne Seierstad :"For more than twenty years Sultan Khan defied the authorities—be they communist or Taliban—to supply books to the people of Kabul. Why is it so cold?!? Time to curl up in front of the fire with the - Stephen King's The Green Mile:"There are more wonders in heaven and hell than anyone at Cold Mountain can imagine and one of those wonders might just have stepped in amongst them."

It was supposed to be FICTION, not an instruction manual!!! Today's is The Handmaid's Tale by Atwood: "Set in the near future, it describes life in what was once the United States and is now called the Republic of Gilead, a monotheocracy that has reacted to social unrest and a sharply declining birthrate by reverting to, and going beyond, the repressive intolerance of the original Puritans."

Bright and chilly morning today, swerve your car into our parking lot and buy some books. You can also visit us tomorrow during at the Merry Mischief Market - we will have holiday books and other genres available, as well as gifts and stocking stuffers.
