Curiosity House Books A carefully-curated indie bookshop, “the Pink House” in fabulous Creemore! Our opening receptions are usually held on the first Saturday of each month.

Curiosity House Bookstore & Gallery is an independent bookstore with an emphasis on quality literature for adults and children, programming and author events. Our staff is friendly, articulate and well-read – always interested in making a recommendation. We have a great selection of books, but we know that you might be looking for something which isn’t easily found in a small bookstore. If we don’t have what you want in stock, we will be happy to special order any title which is currently in print. We even have an art gallery in the store, which shows the works of a different artist every month. For your convenience, we are open seven days a week from 10 AM to 5 PM, except for Saturdays, when we are open from 9 AM to 5 PM. We are closed on Christmas Day and New Years Day

Creemore did it again! They showed up on an autumnal Thursday evening at Creemore Springs Brewery brewery to listen to a very special author Callie Rae O'Reilly read from her memoir: ‘Let Me Down: Reflections on Abuse and Love’, and support the incredible work that My Friends House does to support women and children escaping abuse.

👻 Book Signing with Christopher Dodd: this Saturday!

A very special signing event this weekend: Saturday, October 10, from 12–2pm here at Curiosity House Books in Creemore.

Couldn't get tickets to our sold-out B**r & Books evening? Here's your chance to meet Christopher and take home a signed copy of Unseen Thing: The Mulmur Hills Poltergeist, a local haunting that happened right on our doorstep.

We couldn't think of a better way to start getting the shop ready for Halloween 🎃

🍂 It's also HarvestFest in Creemore this Saturday (9am–2pm) on the Village Green, so there's lots going on in the village!

Catch the 🐴 Horse & Hound Parade at 11:30am with and 🎻 live music from .corrigan, then pop over to say hello.

Beautiful autumnal day at 🍂🍁ArtsFest in Creemore🍂🍁 today! And it's a busy one!

We have soaking up the vibes of the village wth her range of beautiful jewellery - come check out the intricate creativity of her designs. "Handmade jewellery with a story!"

And popped in to sign our remaining copies of her book: Flying Soulo! She's on the stage tomorrow, Sunday October 4th at 1pm for the 'Great Canadian Story Exchange'.

We’re thrilled to welcome Brittany DeSantis Brittany D to the shop to sign copies of The Daily Play: A 365-Day Art Journal to Reignite Your Creative Spark! 🌈

Whether you’re a seasoned artist or someone who hasn’t picked up a paintbrush since Grade 4, this one’s for you. It offers bite-sized 15-minute daily prompts in continuous line drawing, watercolour, calligraphy, mindful art and more, all tied to the seasons. Fifteen minutes a day to play and create some art!! 🖼️

🎨✨ ArtsFest is coming to Creemore… and we're kicking things off EARLY! ✨📚

The Purple Hills Arts & Heritage Society's Creemore ArtsFest is one of our favourite weekends of the year. The whole village turns into a gallery, a stage and a giant playground for creative people. Obviously we couldn't just sit quietly behind the till. 🙃

🖌️ FRIDAY, OCTOBER 2nd | 11am–12pm

Then, because of course… Books & Jewellery! 💎📚 The beautiful handmade pieces of Sonia Faye Designs () will be on display at the shop all weekend. Every piece is handcrafted and one of a kind, just like our favourite characters. Come for a novel, leave with a necklace. We won't tell. 🤫

So pop in, say hi, grab a signed journal, find a little sparkle, and then head out and soak up everything ArtsFest has to offer. Supporting local artists, storytellers and independent shops is what makes this village so special. 💜

Some of the hardest stories to hear are also the most important ones to share.

On Thursday October 8th, we're welcoming to Curiosity House Books to share her memoir, Let Me Down: Reflections on Abuse and Love. It's an honest look at the kinds of abuse that don't always leave visible scars, and the long, nonlinear road back to yourself.

🎗🫶 We're proud to host this evening in partnership with My Friend's House, who will share the work they do every day to give women and children in South Georgian Bay a safe place to land. All proceeds from the event will go directly to them to support this valuable work. 🎗🫶

Come join us at Creemore Springs Brewery for a b**r, a reading, conversation, and a space to listen and reflect together.

I can definitely definitely recommend Daphnis & Chloe and The Things We Never Say but am eyeing Wild People Quiet and Switzy (did you know it's short for Swittzerland?) - but what would YOU tell me to read next please?! Which will make it onto the shortlists do you think?
