The spirit of Johnny Cash filled the Historic SDG Jail on May 30 as audiences gathered for two memorable performances of Johnny Cash at Folsom Prison Revisited.

Paul Anthony, the Preacher in the Church of Johnny Cash, brought the music, stories, and energy of the Man in Black to life in his unforgettable performances. Guests packed the Jail courtyard for both the 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. shows, celebrating the life and music of one of country music’s most enduring legends.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this special event and helped make it such a success.

The Historic SDG Jail is now open for the 2026 summer season! ⭐

Want to learn more about the region's storied history? Look no further! Open from 1833 to 2002, the Jail was has nearly 200 years of history within its walls. ⛓

This year, the Jail will be offering Self Guided Tours between the hours of 10:00-4:00, and Guided Tours at 10:30 & 2:30. Alongside its regularly scheduled tours, the Jail will offer Night Tours, focusing on the darker history of the jail and its earlier inmates.

Gain hands-on experience promoting SDG Counties while engaging with visitors on trails, at events, festivals, and local businesses.

Create social media content, update the tourism website, write blogs, and share what makes our region special.

You’ll also lead guided tours at the Historic SDG Jail, assist with events and rentals, support point-of-sale transactions, and help maintain a welcoming visitor experience.
