Headwaters Arts runs the Headwaters Gallery located in the historic Alton Mill Art Centre. Membership runs the calendar year but we always welcome new members.

Headwaters Arts is a not-for-profit organization consisting of artist and supporter members coming together to promote the art of our members through shows in our artist run gallery at the historic Alton Mill Art Centre in Alton, Ont. Our artists are a diverse group working in many mediums, at all different points on their creative paths and coming to art in many different ways. We are volunteer based and member driven, creating and promoting approximately 10 shows per year the largest of which is our prestigious annual Fall festival Juried Show and Sale. Members have the opportunity to submit works to all member shows as well as apply to have their own show in several time slots available for that purpose. Headwaters Arts is proud to present, the Power of Grey, a solo art exhibition by member artist Karen Brown!

Karen brings together encaustic paintings and hand-built ceramics in an exhibition spanning three gallery spaces with over 30 pieces at the Alton Mill Arts Centre. Visitors are invited to move through listening, softening, and integrating, and pausing along the way to discover their own connections with the work.

HA members: the call for 2027 proposal shows is now open for submissions!

Each year Headwaters Arts makes the Headwaters Gallery located in the Alton Mill Arts Centre available to members up to four times per year for solo or group shows. This is a really great opportunity to showcase your work or the collective work of a group!

Headwaters Arts members, if you've been considering trying to navigate the world of marketing as an artist, or if you're looking for fresh ideas, then mark your calendars for this brand new workshop!

Marketing Strategies for Artists is a free, interactive 90-minute professional development workshop that will explore how artists can build an authentic brand, identify their ideal audience, and promote their work more effectively. And you'll be in good hands! Your host, Terrilyn Kunopaski, is a storyteller, brand strategist, and creative consultant with a background in publishing, tourism, and marketing.
