*Water-to-Paint Ratios: Mastering the “sweet spot” of moisture so your washes flow smoothly without blooming or muddying.

*Basic Value Management: Creating a strong sense of light and shadow.

*Layering & Glazing: Building luminous, transparent depth through deliberate washes.

*Edge Control: Knowing when to create crisp, hard edges versus soft, lost edges to guide the viewer’s eye.

*Refining Details: Balancing intentional, tighter focal points with expressive elements.

Grace in the Wild, watercolor

Growing up, I was adventurous, curious, and determined to keep up with all the wild fun my older brothers had, yet I remained a girl who held fast to her girly graces. The tiger lily perfectly mirrors that beautiful tension. Grace in the Wild is a celebration of that balance—a visual reminder that we can run wild, chase adventures, and bloom defiantly in the most ordinary places, all while carrying our own distinct elegance.

I am excited to share that I’ve applied to exhibit my paintings in the upcoming Square Foot Show « Landscapes, » taking place virtually on October 8–9, 2026. All paintings are 12 inches square and sell for $350. CAD

Known for their fast-paced, online-only events, the Square Foot Show is a fantastic platform celebrating both emerging and established talent. I’ll keep you posted as soon as I hear back!

The Secret Garden 🌿 Watercolor | 22” x 30”

This large-scale piece is incredibly close to my heart. It’s based on a special, secluded spot in my own garden—a place that will always be filled with magic.

This corner holds such precious memories. When my grand-girls were little, this was the secret spot they would disappear into, spending hours playing with their imaginary fairy friends.

Every detail holds a piece of our family history. The stone retaining wall and steps leading up to the wooden gate were lovingly built by my husband, their grandfather. The lush hostas and cascading periwinkles are plants I put into the earth myself, and the beautiful, velvety moss decorating the stone? Well, those details were provided by God himself.

It has been such a joy to capture the light, shadows, and memories of this personal sanctuary on paper.
