Our museum's exhibition space is still closed due to June flooding.

However, yesterday we had visitors from Morris, Manitoba who viewed selected items from our famous Canadian Flag Collection.

Pictured are a few of the Canadian Red Ensigns, the precursor to Canada's maple leaf flag. (1860s to 1960s)

Small restoration project - trackside phone.

Before cell phones and 2 way radios, rail maintenance crews communicated with dispatch via phones, mounted alongside the tracks in wooden boxes. Marked "P" for phone, they also had the location marked inside the door, so crews knew exactly where they were.

This one was cleaned, restored and mounted on the museum's telegraph pole July 31, 2026.
