🎵✨ SOLD OUT! It’s happening today at Hôtel van Eetvelde!
French musician Thomas Bloch will introduce us to two rare and fascinating instruments:
🎶 The Glass Harmonica
Invented by Benjamin Franklin in 1761 and inspired by the principle of musical glasses, this instrument consists of glass bowls of different sizes mounted on a rotating axis. As the glasses spin, the musician rubs their rims with moistened fingers, producing pure, crystalline sounds.
🎶 The Cristal Baschet
Also known as the “crystal organ,” this unique musical instrument was developed in France in the 1950s by brothers Bernard and François Baschet. It features glass rods played with moistened fingers. The resulting vibrations are amplified by a metal structure and cone-shaped elements, creating an airy, almost otherworldly sound.
